Jay Duane Driver, President and Founder of Fresh Fire Minstries has been named to the Board of Directors of PACE Youth Groups, Inc. PACE Youth Groups, Inc. exists to encourage, equip, and empower Juvenile Offenders at-risk to the criminal justice system to become responsible and productive citizens in society. The goal of PACE is to provide a viable vehicle by which youth are better connected with their families and society than they were prior to their incarceration.
The Texas Youth Commission has documented results showing PACE youth recidivism rates being 20 points lower than the recidivism of youths not enrolled in PACE, thus saving the tax payers of the State of Texas over 5.1 million dollars. In the first 5 years 124 youth have enrolled and 115 have completed the program. A total of 100 volunteers have been cleared and certifed to impact the lives of youth from the inside out. Since January 3, 2001, men and women have volunteered over 6,074 hours representing the equivilent value of $109,574.96 as in-kind service. The estimated dollar value of volunteer time is $18.04 per hour.
PACE is the brainchild of Executive Director Steven Holloway and lead servant Todd Strayhorn who have mutually committed themselves to giving delinquent youth the support system that they have been denied.
